Best Ways To Increase Alexa Ranking Fast.

Why Alexa? Why not Alexa?! To start with did you know that the algorithm used in calculation by Alexa traffic ranking is quite simple. It is based on the amount of traffic recorded from users that have the Alexa toolbar installed over a period of three months (although the tool bar is not the only tool used to measure and analyze a site web performance by Alexa). This traffic is based on such parameters as reach, bounce rate, average time spent on the site and page views. Also note the free version of the alexa data analytic are no longer offered on the site.

Alexa is one of the oldest website analytic engine out there that provides commercial web traffic data and analytics. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com. Founded as an independent company in 1996, Alexa was acquired by Amazon in 1999.

So you’re probably wondering why I have the Alexa Toolbar Installed on my browser and why I tell my fellow marketers, webmasters and SEO gurus to do the same.

It’s simple. The Alexa  toolbar monitors all my surfing and collects information about what domains I visit. They don’t know that it’s “me” – they collect it as anonymous user data and use it to rank web sites. Not only does Alexa use this information for determining where people surf on the web but so does Google. Let me repeat that fact so it sinks in: Google Uses Alexa’s Information For Ranking and Indexing!

Installing the Alexa toolbar and surfing your own site will absolutely help you get your sites indexed by Google more quickly. I just started this blog today, and the googlebot has already come by without any inbound links!

Because the Alexa toolbar is such a pile, no one ever keeps it installed. So just by updating and surfing your own site daily, (assuming NO ONE else does), you can get your Alexa ranking from 5,500,000 or “no data” to around 300,000 in under a month and to 100,000 in 3 months.

Alexa Rankings and Google PR are two of the main factors uninformed people look at when considering link exchanges. (Page Rank is completely useless BTW we have a white hat PR 4 site that gets 20 visitors a day and unranked sites that get several thousand per day).

If you remember the Nielsen Company, famous for the Nielsen Ratings, you understand that what is put on television was once determined by what a minute fraction of TV viewers watched: The people with a Nielsen box on their TV Set – The Nielsen Families. Having the Alexa toolbar installed on your browser is like being a Nielsen Family for the web. Your surfing habits will determine what is most “popular” and what sites should be ranked higher in the SERPs.

That was reason enough for me to install the Alexa Tool Bar. Download it for yourself, and watch your Alexa Rankings Skyrocket over the next several weeks. We know Google looks at the Information, which means that Yahoo and MSN are probably looking at it too.

Benefits of Alexa Ranking

Alexa Traffic can be used as a competitive intelligence tool but you should take into consideration the fact that its sample size of audience is too small; Just enter your competitor's site in the "Compare Sites" section and measure the results of your web marketing efforts in comparison with your competitors'.

As opposed to Google's PageRank, the lower your ranking number, the better. It helps Webmasters and advertisers see the true marketing potential of your Web site. The better your Alexa rank, the higher they will be willing to bid to buy advertising space on your Web site.

Personal pages or blogs are taken into consideration and ranked in the same manner as regular Web sites. They will even get a distinctive mark (*) Given that Alexa ranking offers you information about your Web site, it is a good tool to have in view of search engine optimization.

Ways to Improve Your Alexa Ranking

If you want to boost your Alexa traffic ranking, you just have to follow some quite simple rules, such as: Download and install the Alexa toolbar and then surf your own site.

Place the Alexa widget on your Web site. It will entice the visitors to check it out, and you know, each click counts.

Write useful, quality content, mostly webmaster-related. Promote it on webmaster forums and on social networking sites. The idea is to get as many computer and Internet savvy people as possible to visit your site, since the probability that they will have the Alexa toolbar installed is high.

Write posts on your blogs and articles about Alexa. You will get links to your pages that will help improve your ranking.

Try to get your articles on such social networking websites as digg.comdel.icio.us, or www.stumbleupon.com Optimize your site (or relevant pages of it) for Alexa related keywords.

Tell your friends about the Alexa toolbar, have them download and install it on their computers, and then tell them to visit your site.

Can I use Alexa redirect? This is a good question but am sorry to say this method does not work, rather you can simply use http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/yourdomain.com#trafficstats and replace yourdomain.com with your Web site's URL. Thus, Alexa will even take into consideration clicks on redirected links even if the visitor does not have the Alexa toolbar.

Whenever you post on webmaster forums, include your site's URL in your signature. It is very likely that most webmasters have the toolbar installed, and there's a great probability that they'll visit your site. This boils down to content published on your blog, so writing webmaster related post can help you increase your Alexa ranking

I will advice against trying to automate your Alexa ranking by buying into sites that helps to increase alexa ranking via traffic exchange.

Since the main purpose of having a very high Alexa ranking is to have traffic data to sell to your prospective advertisers, then the thought of having a very poor bounce rate and a terrible average time spent, then sorting out Alexa booster sites will not be a good way to go.

Best you do it white hat rather than work on improving it with a very terrible website statistics that will also affect your seo. In todays SEO (advanced) your website performance is also put into consideration when optimizing for a keyword.

Now If you have other means of increasing Alexa traffic or have tried some methods and it works best, please do share these information below...and don't forget to share this useful information via our social buttons so that others that may find it useful can easily pick it up.
